Greenhouse Shade Replacement

Background

Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is seeking qualified contractors to provide goods and services for the Greenhouse Shade Replacement project. The goal of this contract is to enhance the functionality of greenhouse zones by replacing existing shade cloth, thereby supporting ISU's mission in agricultural education and research.

Work Details

Contractors are required to remove existing shade cloth in greenhouse zones and replace 40 panels with new shade cloth on existing shade systems. Specific tasks include: 1) Removal of all existing shade curtains and stapled shade/heat retention material; 2) Provision and installation of new panels of shade cloth on the existing shade system; 3) Repairing the leading edge of the shade system in three cells, including splicing for repair work; 4) Removal and reinstallation of existing benches as needed for shade replacement; 5) Disposal of old shade material, including dumpster costs; 6) Supplier must provide necessary equipment to complete work; 7) Warranty of at least one year for parts and labor.

Period of Performance

All work must be completed between May 15th and July 31st, 2026.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at Iowa State University's greenhouse facilities located in Ames, Iowa.
