H12 Water Heater Replacement

Background

The State of Alaska, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Alaska Air National Guard is soliciting quotes from qualified vendors for the replacement of a water heater located in Hangar 12, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Alaska. The existing water heater has reached the end of its useful service life, necessitating total replacement. The goal of this contract is to ensure the installation of a new gas water heater that meets specified requirements.

Work Details

The contractor shall uninstall the current 300-gallon water heater and install a new gas water heater that matches or exceeds the following specifications: 199,000 BTU/h input, gas-fueled, 115V, and 300-gallon storage capacity. The contractor must provide a submittal for approval before purchasing the new unit. A functionality test must be performed after installation, and all demolished materials must be properly disposed of. Additionally, the contractor is required to provide Operations and Maintenance manuals for the new unit prior to contract close.

Period of Performance

The project must be completed no later than 45 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed is finalized.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have at least 5 years’ experience plumbing on military installations. All quotes must include a bid guaranty of 5% of the total bid amount. A payment bond and performance bond are required at 100% of the contract value. Bidders must hold a current Alaska business license and may claim preferences such as Alaska Bidder Preference or Alaska Veteran Preference if eligible.
