Background The Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) requires sterile processing services for its Department of Surgery to support patient care. Historically, a local vendor provided these services. The US Army Health Contracting Activity (USAHCA) intends to award a contract for outsourcing sterile processing services for surgical medical instrumentation that cannot be processed in a mobile unit. The contractor will have full authority to transport government property on and off the Fort Bragg, North Carolina post. Work Details The contractor shall provide all personnel, vehicles, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to perform the sterile processing of surgical medical instrumentation. Key tasks include: 1) Assisting in sterilizing medical surgical instrumentation trays and peel packs; 2) Picking up all trays from WAMC’s SPD receiving area and transporting them to the contractor’s facility for processing and sterilization, returning them within 12 hours; 3) Ensuring each tray meets ANSI/AAMI guidelines and standards as well as OSHA and TJC guidelines; 4) Maintaining a system of records sufficient to respond to government requests; 5) Using temperature-controlled transport vehicles; 6) Performing quality control inspections and maintaining records of all inspections conducted; 7) Providing tracking methods for each tray delivered; 8) Ensuring that all instruments are properly labeled and identified for clinic use outside of WAMC. Place of Performance The services will be performed at Womack Army Medical Center located at Building 4-2817 Rock Merritt Avenue, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
