Paddison Memorial Library HVAC Replacement

Background

The Forsyth County General Services is issuing this contract for the replacement of the failed Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system at the Paddison Memorial Library located in Kernersville, NC. The goal of this contract is to ensure the library has a functional and efficient HVAC system to support its operations.

Work Details

The work includes: - Demolition and removal of existing fan coil units, selector boxes, refrigerant piping, and outdoor units; - Installation of a new VRF system which encompasses new fan coil units, selector boxes, refrigerant piping, and outdoor units; - Installation of new roof curbs and screening as required by zoning regulations; - Reconfiguration of the Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) to allow for recirculation of conditioned air during VRF outages; - Replacement of existing controls with new systems to replace the TRANE tracer system; - Providing training for the owner's staff on the new system.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to be performed from May 28, 2026, following the bid submission deadline.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Paddison Memorial Library located at 248 Harmon Lane, Kernersville, NC 27284.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a specialty license applicable to HVAC or electrical work. A 5% Bid Bond is required at the time of bid submission, along with 100% Performance & Payment Bonds from the awarded contractor. Additionally, there are M/WBE subcontracting goals set at 10% cumulatively for MBE and WBE participation.
