Northampton Township Cape Seal Project

Background

The Northampton Township Cape Seal Project is initiated by Northampton Township, located in Bucks County, PA. The project aims to enhance the township's infrastructure through the application of a Cape Seal, which combines high-performance chip seal followed by a Type II slurry seal. Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for applying Cape Seal over an estimated area of 68,060 square yards. The work involves the use of high-performance chip seal followed by a quick set Type II slurry seal. The contractor must ensure that all materials meet the specifications outlined in PennDOT Bulletin 14 and provide necessary certifications regarding material availability and compliance with quality standards. Additionally, all work must comply with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act and other applicable regulations.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to be completed within ninety (90) calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, which will be issued after contract award.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience applying Cape Seal and must be pre-qualified with PennDOT. All bidders are required to submit a bid bond or certified check amounting to 10% of their total bid. Additionally, bidders must provide proof of competency and responsibility as per 67 PA Code Chapter 457 regulations. Subcontractors listed in proposals must also meet pre-qualification requirements.
