Background

The Office of County Commissioners of Habersham County, Georgia, is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) for Project No. LMIG 2026-28376 & LRA 2026-29263. The mission of the county is to maintain and improve its infrastructure. This contract aims to enhance the road conditions within the county and the Town of Mt. Airy through various paving improvements.

Work Details

The project involves asphaltic concrete milling, patching, leveling, resurfacing, and striping over a total of 11.93 miles across twenty (20) various road segments in Habersham County and an additional 0.42 miles in the Town of Mt. Airy. Specific tasks include: - Milling existing asphalt pavement - Patching areas as directed - Leveling with specified materials - Resurfacing with Open Graded Interlayer (OGI) and Superpave asphalt mixtures - Striping with thermoplastic materials for traffic control. The contractor will also be responsible for testing and providing certified test reports on compaction as per Georgia Department of Transportation standards.

Period of Performance

The work is scheduled to commence within 10 days after notification by the County and must be completed by October 9, 2026.

Place of Performance

The contract work will take place in various locations throughout Habersham County and specifically in the Town of Mt. Airy.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide proof of liability insurance and worker's compensation insurance as required by state statutes. A proposal guaranty of at least five percent (5%) of the total bid is required along with performance and payment bonds equal to the full amount of the bid upon contract execution. Bidders must also comply with E-Verify requirements.
