Engineering Services for Water and Wastewater System Resiliency Project

Background

The City of Lyons, Georgia is seeking Statements of Qualifications from professional firms to provide engineering and design services for multiple water and wastewater system improvement projects. These projects are partially funded by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) through the Hurricane Helene Resilience Funding Program. The aim is to enhance resilience in drinking water and wastewater facilities affected by Hurricane Helene.

Work Details

The services required include: 1. **Drinking Water Project No.66** - Replacement of 18,200 LF of 6-inch Transite waterline with 10" PVC pipe and addition of a system loop to improve pressure, flow, resiliency, and reduce leaks and asbestos risk. 2. **Clean Water Project No.60** - Upsizing pumps at 16 City Pump Stations to increase capacity, reduce spills and sewer overflows, and enhance system resilience. 3. **Clean Water Project No.61** - Installation of emergency standby generators at 16 Lift Stations to ensure reliable power and pump operation, thereby reducing environmental impacts and improving system redundancy.

Period of Performance

The qualifications are due on June 3, 2026, with the project timeline extending beyond this date as determined during negotiations.

Bidder Requirements

Firms must demonstrate experience in municipal water systems design and construction oversight. They should have a strong record in assisting local governments with public works infrastructure projects associated with Federal or State grant programs.
