Background

Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is seeking qualified contractors to provide photography services for its Athletics Department. The university's athletics program is an NCAA Division I program featuring 18 varsity sports, with a variety of events throughout the year, including home games for football, basketball, wrestling, soccer, tennis, softball, volleyball, track meets, and swimming.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for capturing high-resolution digital images at various events including: headshots of student-athletes, coaches, and athletics staff; team photos; game day action photos; practice action photos; media days; and special events. The contractor must attend all home football games (approximately 6-8), 90% of home men's and women's basketball games (including all postseason games), 90% of home wrestling matches (including postseason), and additional events as specified by ISU communications staff. They must have portable studio equipment for individual and team shots and provide 5-10 web-sized photos at halftime. All images taken will belong to ISU.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, and run through June 30, 2027. It may be renewed annually for up to three additional years upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance

The majority of the photography work will take place in Ames, IA. However, travel may be required for bowl games or NCAA tournaments with travel expenses covered by ISU according to state guidelines.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must demonstrate previous experience in athletics photography and submit samples of their work as part of their proposal. They are also required to comply with insurance requirements specified by ISU.
