Background

Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is seeking qualified contractors to provide automotive parts and supplies for the Transportation Services Department. The goal of this contract is to ensure that ISU's fleet of approximately 600 light-duty vehicles is maintained with high-quality parts and supplies, adhering to industry standards and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Work Details

The contractor will supply automotive parts and supplies necessary for servicing and repairing ISU-owned vehicles. This includes: 1) Providing new automotive parts that meet or exceed OEM quality standards; 2) Maintaining an on-site inventory to fulfill a build-up sheet twice a week; 3) Delivering additional parts as needed within specified timeframes (30 minutes preferred for urgent requests); 4) Supplying bulk oil that meets OEM specifications; 5) Ensuring all products are compatible with modern vehicle technologies, including hybrid and electric vehicles; 6) Offering warranties on all supplied parts; 7) Handling non-stocked parts research and delivery; 8) Monthly billing with detailed invoices showing itemized costs.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, and will extend through June 30, 2029, with options for two additional one-year renewals based on performance.

Place of Performance

The primary location for performance will be at the Transportation Services facility located at 919 Haber Road, Ames, IA 50011.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must be manufacturers or fully authorized dealers/distributors of the products offered. They should comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. No minimum or maximum quantity limits can be imposed by the contractor on orders from ISU.
