Background The City of Valdosta is issuing this Invitation to Bid for the procurement of 95 Gallon Roll-Out Containers. The purpose of this contract is to support the city's waste management program by providing durable refuse containers that meet specific operational requirements. The City aims to enhance its existing roll-out container program with new containers for replacements and new residents. This contract will be awarded based on the best interest of the city, considering quality and pricing. Work Details The contractor will provide semi-automated refuse containers with a minimum capacity of 95 gallons, manufactured from virgin high-density polyethylene plastic that is 100% recyclable. The city anticipates ordering 400-500 containers at a time, two or three times a year, with the right to order fewer if necessary. Specifications include: 1. Container wall thickness must not be less than 0.150 inches. 2. Minimum wall thickness at critical wear points shall be 0.110 inches. 3. Containers must be equipped with inserted lift bars (integrally molded lift bars are unacceptable). 4. The lid must open to at least 270 degrees and should not have latches. 5. Containers must withstand winds up to 35 mph when empty. 6. A warranty of ten years on the lid, wheels, axle, and necessary hardware is required. 7. Delivery costs are included in the bid price, which should be FOB Valdosta, GA. Period of Performance The contract period will begin after approval from the Mayor and Council, anticipated to start on July 1, 2026, and will end on June 30, 2027. There is an option for renewal for four additional one-year periods if both parties agree. Place of Performance The delivery location for all containers will be Valdosta, Georgia. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide proof of compliance with O.C.G.A §13-10-91 regarding federal work authorization programs and submit insurance documents showing coverage with AM Best's rated A or better insurance companies authorized in Georgia. Bidders must also include a non-collusion affidavit and confirm they are not on any State or Federal Debarment list.
