Background The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Alaska District, is conducting market research to identify qualified and interested businesses capable of performing the construction project for a permanent party dormitory at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. The goal of this contract is to construct a facility that will house 225 unaccompanied enlisted airmen, supporting the mission of providing adequate living accommodations for military personnel. Work Details The project involves the construction of a 3-story permanent party dormitory that includes: - slab-on-grade and steel frame construction with concrete masonry unit block veneer over metal studs at exterior walls; - standing seam metal roof over insulation and steel frame or joists; - installation of fire protection and detection systems; - lighting; - heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); - power and plumbing systems; - all other work necessary to create a complete and usable facility. Supporting facilities will include an additional 200 parking spaces, extension of steam, water, and sewer utilities, power distribution systems, and landscaping. Main facility spaces will consist of 225 dormitory units, activity space, communal kitchens, a dorm management office, public restrooms, laundry facilities, theatre/meeting space, elevators, and mechanical/utility spaces.
