Background The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this solicitation for the purpose of conducting hazardous tree removal and storm debris clean-up at the Julian Price Memorial Park Campground and Price Picnic Area along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. This initiative aims to restore safe public access following significant storm damage caused by Hurricane Helene, ensuring public safety, protecting park infrastructure, and maintaining the natural environment. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for identifying, planning, removing, and disposing of hazard trees and storm-related debris within approximately 62 acres of Julian Price Memorial Park Campground and 28 acres of the adjacent Price Picnic Area. The work includes: 1. Providing a certified arborist to assess the areas and develop a Tree Removal Plan. 2. Identifying and removing trees that pose risks to public safety or infrastructure. 3. Removing storm debris and downed woody material from public areas. 4. Minimizing environmental impact while preserving healthy vegetation. 5. Restoring disturbed areas to a safe and natural condition. Period of Performance The contract will be performed from May 18, 2026, to December 31, 2026.
