Background The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is issuing a request for quotation (RFQ) for language interpretation services between English and Central Alaskan Yup'ik in response to the Presidentially Declared Disaster DR-4893-AK, Typhoon Halong. This contract aims to support disaster response operations in designated areas affected by the disaster, ensuring effective communication for those impacted. Local preference will be given to contractors with a primary business location within the federally designated disaster areas. Work Details The Contractor shall provide professional language interpretation services between English and Central Alaskan Yup’ik for disaster response operations. Services may be required in-person or remotely, primarily in Anchorage and Bethel, Alaska. The contractor must: - Provide qualified interpreters fluent in both languages. - Conduct interpretation for meetings, briefings, interviews, and official communications. - Adhere to confidentiality and ethical standards as well as DHS requirements for safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information. - Respond to requests on short notice and indicate response times and availability. - Designate a primary point of contact for coordination. Pricing will include a firm fixed hourly rate for interpretation hours and reimbursement for authorized travel per Federal Travel Regulations.
