East Elementary Roof Hazardous Material Testing

Background

The Kodiak Island Borough is issuing this Request for Quotes (RFQ) for hazardous materials sampling, testing, and reporting services at East Elementary School. This project is part of the preparation for a planned roof replacement project scheduled for 2027. The agency's mission is to ensure safety and compliance with environmental regulations during construction activities.

Work Details

The contractor will provide hazardous materials sampling, testing, and reporting services for the existing roof systems at East Elementary School. Specific services include: - Inspection and representative sampling for asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), lead-based paint, and other potentially regulated or hazardous materials associated with 1960s–1980s era construction and roofing materials. - Environmental sampling, sealing of any penetrations made from sampling operations to ensure weather tightness, laboratory analysis, and reporting necessary to support project design, demolition planning, and regulatory compliance. - Refer to Exhibit A for specific areas in need of sampling.

Period of Performance

The work must be completed within ninety (90) calendar days following the date of notice to proceed.

East Elementary School, Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a copy of a current Alaska Contractor License and a current Alaska Business License. Compliance with KIB Code 3.30.115 is required. The contractor must adhere to prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor and meet the requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference Act (AS 36.10).
