Background The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) is issuing a solicitation for the installation of a carbon monoxide detection system at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Safford, located at 1529 W. US HWY 366, Safford, AZ 85546. This project aims to enhance safety by integrating a new CO detection system with the existing Edwards EST3 fire alarm system installed in 2022. The contract is set aside for total small business concerns. Work Details The contractor is responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and warranties necessary to install the carbon monoxide detection system. The work includes: 1. Design and installation of carbon monoxide (CO) detectors compliant with the latest National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. 2. Full integration of the CO detection system with the existing fire detection and alarm system (FDAS). 3. Submission of design documents, calculations, and shop drawings for review and approval by FBOP prior to procurement and installation. 4. Ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal codes including International Building Code, NFPA standards, Life Safety Code, OSHA regulations, and American Correctional Association Standards. 5. Engaging a qualified engineer or designer to seal the delegated design of the CO detection system. Period of Performance The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days after receiving notice to proceed and complete it within 203 calendar days.
