Background The Federal Bureau of Prisons, specifically the Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas, is seeking a contractor to provide Emergency Advanced Life Support (EMS) services. The goal of this contract is to ensure the medical care and transportation of Adults in Custody (AIC) experiencing health crises, as well as the escorting of correctional officers to local hospitals. This service is critical for maintaining the health and safety of individuals in custody at the Federal Correctional Complex located in Butner, North Carolina. Work Details The contractor will provide a range of emergency medical services including: - Advanced Life Support (ALS) Emergency Services - Basic Life Support (BLS) Emergency Services - ALS Level II and Specialty Care Transport - ALS Non-Emergency and BLS Non-Emergency transport services. These services must be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including all federal holidays. The contractor must ensure timely responses and maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Specific requirements include: - Availability of emergency ambulances to meet demand. - Compliance with North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles standards for paratransit services. - Adherence to HIPAA regulations. - Maintenance of insurance coverage as specified by local ordinances. Transportation requests will be received at any time, and proper safety protocols must be followed during loading/unloading procedures. The contractor is responsible for ensuring that all drivers are properly trained and certified in first aid and emergency medical response.
