Background The County of York, Virginia, along with the County School Board of Virginia, is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide Risk Management and Insurance Consulting Services. This initiative aims to enhance the risk management program under the direction of the County Administrator and the Superintendent of York County Schools. Work Details The selected Consultant will perform a variety of services related to risk management and insurance consulting for both the County and the School Board. Key responsibilities include: 1. **Insurance Document and Certificate of Insurance (COI) Review**: Review insurance documentation submitted by vendors and verify compliance with requirements. Identify deficiencies and advise on corrective actions. 2. **Contract Insurance Requirements and Risk Transfer**: Evaluate insurance requirements in contracts, draft necessary contractual language, and provide guidance on best practices for risk transfer. 3. **Independent Liaison and Coverage Advisory**: Act as a liaison between the County/School Board and insurance providers, assisting in resolving coverage questions or claims-related issues. 4. **Loss History Analysis**: Analyze historical loss data to identify trends and provide recommendations for reducing loss frequency. 5. **Loss Control and Risk Management Evaluation**: Review existing policies for effectiveness and recommend improvements. 6. **Regulatory and Industry Monitoring**: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting coverage or compliance. 7. **Meetings, Training, and Ongoing Advisory Support**: Attend meetings as requested, provide ongoing consultation, and develop training sessions on various insurance topics. Period of Performance The initial contract period will be for one year from the date of award, with an option to renew for up to nine additional one-year periods. Place of Performance Services will be performed in York County, Virginia. Bidder Requirements Offerors must have at least 5 years of experience providing similar services. They must also comply with local business license requirements in York County, Virginia, and maintain adequate liability insurance throughout the contract term.
