Background Midlands Technical College (MTC) is a fully accredited, comprehensive two-year public college and a member of the South Carolina Technical College System. Established in 1974, MTC provides accessible, high-quality education to support workforce development and transfer education. The college serves approximately 12,000 academic students and 12,000 corporate and continuing education students annually, offering over 100 associate degrees, diplomas, and certificate programs. MTC is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide comprehensive bookstore management and operations services for both online and brick-and-mortar locations. Work Details The Contractor shall manage and operate an online bookstore and two physical bookstore locations at the Airport Campus and Beltline Campus. Services include selling new, used, rentable, and digital textbooks; multi-access materials; reference books; distance-learning materials; course packs; student supplies; technology products; apparel; and institutional merchandise. The Contractor must ensure fiscal responsibility, accurate financial reporting, compliance with laws, integration with the college's ERP system (Ellucian Colleague), provide exceptional customer service, maintain inventory controls, manage surplus merchandise, support departmental charge sales, and execute marketing initiatives aligned with college branding standards. Period of Performance The contract will commence on November 1, 2026, with an estimated end date of October 31, 2031. The initial contract period is one year with four one-year renewal options. Place of Performance Services will be performed at the following locations: - Airport Campus: 1260 Lexington Dr., West Columbia SC 29170 - Beltline Campus: 316 Beltline Blvd., Columbia SC 29205. Bidder Requirements Offerors must have at least ten years of experience managing five or more college bookstores comparable to MTC's operations. They must also provide evidence of financial capability through recent financial statements and demonstrate compliance with all applicable laws.
