U.S Forest Service is looking to purchase a three and possibly one extra metal rectangular/rigid water storage tank for wildland fire suppression with a large-capacity steel, open-top tank for storage of water used for - dropping helicopters to dip and reload their water buckets, and for fire engines and water tenders to draft water through a port on the bottom end of the Well tank. Delivery shall be late May or early June. The pictures attach are just a visual aid and do not promote one type of tank over another design.

Background The U.S. Forest Service is seeking to procure large-capacity metal rectangular/rigid water storage tanks for wildland fire suppression. The tanks will be utilized for storing water that can be accessed by helicopters and fire engines during firefighting operations. The goal of this contract is to enhance the effectiveness of initial and extended attack firefighting efforts. Work Details The procurement includes: - Three (3) brand new transportable, rigid, rectangular steel tanks with maximum dimensions of 10-ft width x 15-ft length x 10-ft depth, designed to store approximately 12,000 to 13,000 gallons of water. - An option for one (1) additional tank if funding allows. - Tanks must feature: - An open top for helicopters to dip their water buckets. - Two (2) four-inch ports with NH pipe threads for filling. - Drafting options on the bottom end for fire engines and water tenders. - Leak-proof design suitable for large-capacity storage. - A fill pipe attached to an outside corner with braces to prevent snagging. - Corrosion-resistant paint in natural light or dark green or tan colors. - Transportable features with connection points and skids for easy movement. Place of Performance Delivery location is the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, Black Mesa District Office, located at 2748 Arizona 260, Overgaard, AZ 85933.
