Background The City of Albany, Georgia, is issuing this solicitation for the replacement of water mains in three specific locations. Work Details The project consists of three divisions: 1. **Division I: Taft St.** - Replace approximately 1,200 feet of existing 2-inch galvanized water main with a new 6-inch C900 water main. - Install two 3.5' hydrants with valves. - Renew services from meter to main using 1-inch HDPE tubing. - Cut and abandon the old 2-inch main. - Restore affected driveways/roadways to original condition. 2. **Division II: S. Davis St.** - Replace approximately 1,700 feet of existing 2-inch galvanized main with new 6-inch C900 main. - Install two hydrants at approximately 500' intervals. - Renew services from meter to main using 1-inch HDPE tubing. - Cut and abandon the old 2-inch main. - Restore affected driveways/roadways to original condition. 3. **Division III: Carroll St./Central St.** - Replace approximately 2,200 feet of existing 2-inch galvanized water main with a new 6-inch C900 water main. - Install two hydrants at approximately 500' intervals. - Renew services from meter to main using either 1-inch or 2-inch taps and HDPE tubing. - Cut and abandon the old 2-inch main. - Restore affected driveways/roadways to original condition. Period of Performance Each division must be completed within one hundred twenty (120) calendar days from the issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance The work will be performed at three locations in Albany, Georgia: Taft St., S. Davis St., and Carroll St./Central St. Bidder Requirements Bidders must hold a Utility Contractor License and/or a State of Georgia Water Distribution License. A bid bond is required for bids over $250,000, along with performance and payment bonds for awarded contracts exceeding this amount. Bidders are encouraged to include DBE subcontractor participation; however, it is not mandatory.
