Background The City of Albany is seeking a contractor with Certified and Qualified Lineman to perform the re-conduction of overhead primary wire from #6 copper to #1/0 aluminum and replace thirteen (13) rotten wood poles as part of the Utility Operations. This project is part of the City’s efforts to upgrade its electrical infrastructure and ensure reliable service delivery. Work Details The contractor will provide all labor and equipment necessary for the installation of power infrastructure according to project plans and specifications. The specific tasks include: 1. Re-conducting overhead primary wire from #6 copper to #1/0 aluminum. 2. Replacing rotten wood poles with new poles as specified in the project plans, including installing new primary hardware and equipment. 3. Replacing wood cross arms with metal or fiberglass cross arms as provided by the City of Albany. 4. Making all necessary primary and secondary wire connections after installation to restore power service. 5. The City will provide all power infrastructure hardware and materials as per the plans. Period of Performance The contract term is Ninety (90) Calendar Days after a start date has been established following a pre-construction meeting. Place of Performance The work will be performed in various locations across Albany, Georgia, as indicated in the project plans. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have Certified and Qualified Lineman, provide a 5% bid bond, and submit a 100% Performance Bond and Payment Bond upon award. All bidders must comply with local licensing requirements, including obtaining a City of Albany Occupational Tax Certificate or Registration prior to commencement of work.
