Background The NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the renovation of restroom facilities at two farmers markets in North Carolina. The project aims to enhance accessibility and improve the overall condition of the restrooms to meet modern standards, including ADA compliance. This initiative reflects the agency's commitment to providing quality services and facilities to the public, ensuring that the farmers markets remain functional and welcoming year-round. Work Details The project involves renovating a total of twelve (12) bathrooms, with six (6) located at the Raleigh Farmers Market and six (6) at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market in Colfax, NC. The scope of work includes: - Painting upgrades - Installation of new doors, hardware, and frames - Provision of ADA compliant facilities - Installation of new ADA compliant sinks, urinals, and lavatories - Addition of new hand dryers - Upgraded lighting - Installation of new heaters for antifreeze applications only - Installation of new exhaust fans for proper ventilation - Creation of a new janitor’s closet - Installation of new tile flooring and wall tiles - Addition of new floor drains, back draft dampers, grille covers, and hose bibs outside each restroom. The renovations must be completed in phases to ensure that at least one men's and one women's facility remains open during construction. Period of Performance The project is scheduled for delivery by June 2026. Place of Performance The renovations will take place at two locations: Raleigh Farmers Market in Raleigh, NC and Piedmont Triad Farmers Market in Colfax, NC. Bidder Requirements Proposing firms must be properly licensed to provide Construction Services (General Contracting, Electrical Contracting, Plumbing, Heating and Fire Sprinkler Contracting, or Landscape Contracting) and Design Services (Architecture, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture) in the State of North Carolina. Additionally, firms are required to submit qualifications information including a Letter of Interest and Standard Form 254 (SF 254).
