The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets (the Department ) is pleasedto announce the availability of funds for the 2026 Agricultural Fairgrounds InfrastructureImprovement Program (the Program ). This Program will provide funding for fairgroundsinfrastructure improvements to enhance visitor and exhibitor enjoyment of the county andlocal fairs in New York State. Eligible applicants for this Program are agricultural or horticultural corporations andcounty extension service associations that sponsor an annual fair or exposition for thepromotion of agriculture and domestic arts and receive premium reimbursementspursuant to section 286 of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law. NOTE: Eligible applicants must have an executed contract or received approval for a workplan and budget for the use of available funds previously awarded under the AgriculturalFairgrounds Infrastructure Improvement Program before they can apply for this grantopportunity. Eligible Projectsa) Construction, renovation, alteration, rehabilitation, improvements, installation,acquisition, repair or replacement of fairground buildings, equipment or permanent ortemporary facilities used to house or promote agriculture; orb) Construction, renovation, alteration, rehabilitation, improvements, installation,acquisition, repair or replacement of water systems, restrooms, septic systems, and/orstorm water management systems on fairgrounds or in fairground buildings. Background The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is initiating the 2026 Agricultural Fairgrounds Infrastructure Improvement Program to provide funding for infrastructure improvements at fairgrounds across New York State. The goal of this program is to enhance visitor and exhibitor enjoyment at county and local fairs, promoting agriculture and domestic arts. Work Details Eligible projects include: 1. Construction, renovation, alteration, rehabilitation, improvements, installation, acquisition, repair or replacement of fairground buildings, equipment or facilities used to promote agriculture. 2. Construction, renovation, alteration, rehabilitation, improvements, installation, acquisition, repair or replacement of water systems, restrooms, septic systems, and/or stormwater management systems on fairgrounds or in fairground buildings. Ineligible projects include parking facilities and signage. Grant funds can cover salaries and wages; contractor services; equipment; acquisition of facilities; architectural and engineering services; and legal services directly related to project completion. Period of Performance The contract will be effective from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2030. Place of Performance Projects will be performed at various agricultural fairgrounds throughout New York State. Bidder Requirements Eligible applicants must be agricultural or horticultural corporations or county extension service associations sponsoring an annual fair or exposition. Applicants must have an executed contract or approved work plan and budget for previously awarded funds under the program before applying for new funding. There are specific participation goals for Minority/Women Business Enterprises (MWBE) set at 30%, with 15% for both Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE). Additionally, there is a goal of 6% participation for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOB).
