Background The Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Department (HCFR) is seeking a qualified medical service provider to conduct comprehensive wellness examinations, fitness assessments, and consultations for up to 1,300 HCFR members. This initiative aims to enhance the health and wellness of the department's personnel, who face significant physical and mental demands in their line of work. The contract is expected to last for three years with an estimated budget of $2,480,940.00. Work Details The contractor will provide the following services: 1. Conduct medical examinations and fitness assessments based on NFPA standards (1500 and 1582) and IAFF guidelines. 2. Perform comprehensive physical examinations including health risk appraisals, prostate exams for men, pelvic exams for women, breast exams for women, skin cancer screenings, and mental health assessments. 3. Administer laboratory tests such as urinalysis, complete blood counts (CBC), metabolic panels, thyroid panels, and chest X-rays with radiologist reviews. 4. Provide mental health screenings and referrals as necessary. 5. Ensure confidentiality of all medical records and results. 6. Conduct all testing at designated locations within Hillsborough County or via a mobile unit designed for private medical exams. 7. Maintain a minimum capacity to perform nine health assessments daily and provide quarterly statistical analysis summaries of personnel health. Period of Performance The contract will be performed over a three-year period starting from the effective date established by the County’s Blanket Purchase Agreement or Contract Purchase Agreement. Place of Performance Services will be performed within Hillsborough County at the Contractor’s facility or other designated locations approved by the County. Bidder Requirements Bidders must demonstrate recent experience in providing similar services and must be Florida Medical Board certified in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice throughout the contract term. The contractor must not subcontract any duties described in the specifications.
