Background The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners is seeking competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors to retrofit existing metal halide sports lighting systems to LED or install new LED sports lighting systems. This initiative aims to enhance the lighting at various athletic ballfields and play courts across Hillsborough County, aligning with the county's commitment to improving public facilities. The estimated budget for this project is $8,000,000.00, which will be allocated based on the number of firms awarded contracts. Work Details The contractor will perform the following work: - Retrofit or installation of LED sports lighting luminaires - Retrofit or installation of sports lighting poles - Retrofit or installation of sports lighting control systems - Installation or replacement of electrical distribution components - Installation of supplemental electrical grounding and lightning protection as specified in the technical documents. Work will be conducted under Work Orders ranging from $50,000.00 to $750,000.00 in value. Period of Performance The contract will be effective for a four (4) year period from the date established by the County’s Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) or Contract Purchase Agreement (CPA). Place of Performance Work will be performed at various athletic ballfields and play courts located within Hillsborough County. Bidder Requirements Bidders must demonstrate recent experience in providing similar services and must be licensed Electrical Contractors certified with the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board. Contractors and their subcontractors must also be approved installers or certified by manufacturers of products meeting all technical specifications.
