Ironwood State Prison New Potable Water Wells Project

Background

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is issuing a contract for the construction of New Potable Water Wells at Ironwood State Prison located in Blythe, California. The project aims to replace two aging wells to ensure a reliable potable water supply for the facility.

Work Details

The project involves the construction of two new potable water wells, designated as 1R and 5R, which will be installed adjacent to two existing out-of-service wells that have been previously abandoned. The new wells will be equipped and connected to the existing raw water transmission line that conveys water to the on-site water treatment plant (WTP). The work includes: - Electrical improvements such as replacing existing motor control centers and transformers. - Installation of new conduit from the new well sites to the WTP control center building. - Installation of new pumps, canopies, motors, piping, valves, and electrical systems. - Integration of communication systems with the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a valid Class 'A - General Engineering' Contractor license issued by the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) at the time of bid and for the duration of the project. Specialty work associated with water well construction and electrical systems may be performed by subcontractors holding appropriate CSLB specialty contractor licenses ('C-57' Well Drilling Contractor and 'C-10' Electrical Contractor). Additionally, this bid proposal must meet a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) 3% participation goal.
