Athletic Court Resurfacing & Striping Services

Background

The School Board of Brevard County, Florida, referred to as the District or School Board, is issuing an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Athletic Court Resurfacing & Striping Services. The objective is to solicit competitive sealed bids for the installation and/or repair of surfacing or striping for various outdoor athletic courts including tracks, basketball courts, outdoor pickleball courts, and roller hockey surfaces. This initiative aims to maintain and enhance the quality of athletic facilities within the district.

Work Details

The contractor will provide services that include: 1. Installation and/or repair of surfacing or striping for outdoor athletic tracks, basketball courts, outdoor tennis/pickleball courts, roller hockey courts, and other asphalt/concrete/rubberized athletic courts. 2. Projects under $15,000 will be awarded based on availability and past performance; projects between $15,000 and $300,000 will require written quotes from all awarded firms. 3. The contractor must ensure all work meets the specifications set forth by the American Sports Builders Association and comply with quality standards. 4. Specific tasks include court preparation (cleaning surfaces), patching areas holding water, crack repairs with acrylic fillers, applying acrylic resurfacer and color courses, repainting posts where applicable, marking playing lines according to governing body standards (NFHS), and ensuring a uniform finish across all surfaces.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to continue as needed based on project requirements until all work is completed satisfactorily.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various school sites throughout Brevard County, Florida.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have experience in applying outdoor court surface systems for at least five years. They must possess all necessary licenses and certifications required by Florida state law. Additionally, bidders must comply with safety regulations regarding employment practices.
