Background

St. Mary's County Public Schools (SMCPS) is seeking qualified vendors to provide inspection, testing, replacement, and service of fire extinguishers. The goal is to ensure all fire extinguishers are operable and compliant with fire marshal safety regulations. This contract aims to maintain safety equipment across various SMCPS facilities, including schools, buses, and vehicles.

Work Details

The contractor will perform the following services: - Conduct inspections, testing, replacement, and servicing of all fire extinguishers throughout SMCPS facilities. - Provide all necessary materials, tools, delivery, and labor required for the services. - Ensure compliance with NFPA standards during inspections and maintenance. - Perform annual inspections and tag all fire extinguishers. - Conduct hydrostatic testing as required by NFPA 10. - Provide a one-year warranty for newly purchased or replaced fire extinguishers. - Dispose of all waste materials off-site in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Period of Performance

The initial contract period is one year with an option to renew for up to four additional one-year periods. Work must be completed within 60 days from the issuance date of the Purchase Order.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations throughout St. Mary's County Public Schools facilities including schools, office buildings, outbuildings, buses, and vehicles.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must provide a signed W9 with their quote and complete a Business Relationship Affidavit. Contractors must comply with Maryland laws regarding child sexual abuse/sexual misconduct employment history review for employees who will have direct contact with minors.
