Background

St. Mary's County Public Schools (SMCPS) is seeking qualified vendors to provide comprehensive Kitchen Exhaust Hood Fire Protection Inspections and related services. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, particularly those set forth by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 96. This contract aims to enhance fire safety measures across various school facilities within the district.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following services: 1. Conducting kitchen fire suppression system inspections and testing in accordance with NFPA 96 standards, which includes bi-annual inspections at designated sites. 2. Performing minor adjustments during inspections as needed, with prior approval for any additional work required beyond minor adjustments. 3. Identifying deficiencies during inspections and developing proposals for corrective actions, organized by school site. 4. Maintenance tasks including recharging and testing extinguishing tanks as per NFPA and local codes. 5. Providing a complete report with a Certificate of Inspection upon completion of each inspection at all locations serviced, which include various elementary, middle, and high schools in St. Mary's County.

Period of Performance

The initial contract term is one year, with an option for SMCPS to renew for up to four additional one-year periods based on performance and funding availability.

Services will be performed at multiple locations throughout St. Mary's County Public Schools, including various elementary, middle, and high schools as specified in the attached documentation.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must comply with all applicable laws and regulations while meeting project specifications. They are required to provide a signed W9 form and complete a Business Relationship Affidavit with their response.
