Background

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One is soliciting bids for a contract to provide a generator deployment system at two Diverging Diamond Interchanges (DDI) on Interstate 75 (I-75) in Sarasota County. The purpose of this contract is to ensure reliable backup power for traffic signals at these critical intersections, enhancing the operational resilience of the traffic management system.

Work Details

The contractor will furnish and install a turnkey generator backup power system that includes: - A Generac Diesel Generator Set Model RD015 – 15 KW 60 HZ. - A 95-gallon diesel fuel storage tank. - An automatic transfer switch (ATS) monitoring system connected to the Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC). - Communication infrastructure for monitoring utility failure, running status, ATS position, common alarms, and fuel levels. - An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with a minimum backup duration of 8 hours. The work encompasses all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, hardware, software, and testing to deliver a fully functional system. The project must be completed within 90 calendar days from the start date.

Period of Performance

The anticipated start date for the contract is July 1, 2026, with a performance duration of 24 months.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at two locations along Interstate 75 in Sarasota County: I-75 at University Parkway and I-75 at SR 72 (Clark Road).

Bidder Requirements
