W. Wright Street Sidewalk Improvements

Background

The City of Pensacola, through its Department of Public Works and Facilities Engineering and Construction Services, is issuing this solicitation for the W. Wright Street Sidewalk Improvements Project (Bid No. 26-041). The project aims to enhance pedestrian connectivity along the West Wright Street corridor, facilitating safe access for residents to nearby streets and improving overall neighborhood safety.

Work Details

The project includes the following tasks: - Demolition of pavement - Excavation - Cut/fill - Concrete paving - Construction of curb/gutter - Installation of formwork - Placement of asphalt - Adjustment of water meter boxes, valve boxes, cleanouts, and other utility enclosures. It also involves placement of thermoplastic pavement markings, adjustment or relocation of existing landscaping, and sodding. All sidewalks must meet accessibility requirements including grading and finishing for proper cross and running slopes. Additionally, the project includes an additive alternative for placing two parallel segments of 2” PVC electric conduit and electric pull boxes behind the newly constructed sidewalk. Directional boring at a depth of 60” will be required to minimize road disturbance across several streets. The project has a completion goal of 45 calendar days following the Notice to Proceed. Maintenance of Traffic is required due to work within the right-of-way. The site must remain tidy with all debris kept off roadways and sidewalks. Erosion and sedimentation control measures may be necessary.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to commence within 10 calendar days after notification by the City and must be completed within 45 calendar days thereafter.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed along West Wright Street corridor from A to G Street in Pensacola, Florida.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess all necessary licenses and registrations to engage in contracting within the City of Pensacola. Specifically, bidders must hold a Florida Licensed General Contractor certification. Additionally, bidders must submit a bid security in the form of a cashier's check or bond amounting to 5% of the base bid. Compliance with various certifications such as Drug-Free Workplace Certificates and Erosion Control compliance is also required.
