Bwi Marc Station Repairs

Background

The Maryland Department of Transportation, specifically the Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA), is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the BWI MARC Station Repairs project. This contract aims to enhance the infrastructure at the BWI MARC Station, which is vital for public transportation in Maryland. The goal is to improve safety and accessibility for passengers using the station.

Work Details

The contract encompasses construction work that includes: 1) Removal, repair, and replacement of concrete pavement in the bus loop area; 2) Installation of concrete speed humps; 3) Repair of an existing inlet and culvert outfall; 4) Additional construction services for the BWI MARC Station Doors CRS project, which involves: a) Installation of an already procured Draft Air Curtain at the North entrance; b) Installation of ten (10) automatic door openers to existing station vestibule and entry doors. The contractor must retrieve and install the MTA-owned Air Curtain from a local storage facility and ensure that the automatic door operators are wired and coordinated with the Station Access Control and Systems Operation as per provided documents.

Period of Performance

The contract duration is set for 140 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the BWI MARC Station located in Baltimore City, Maryland.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with specific requirements including: 1) A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is required; 2) The contractor must perform at least 60% of the work with their own forces; 3) All bidders must be registered with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT); 4) Compliance with Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) requirements if federal funding is involved; 5) Submission of various forms including Contractor’s Questionnaire, Bid Form, Bid Affidavit, and others as specified in the solicitation.
