Background NASA Johnson Space Center is seeking to procure a compact, slope-capable tractor with specialized attachments and integrated maintenance support services to restore outdoor lunar simulant surfaces at the Crew & Rover Advance Testing & Exploration Readiness Site (CRATERS). This procurement aims to support the Artemis program's crew training and rover testing activities by maintaining consistent test conditions. Work Details The contractor shall provide one (1) compact tractor capable of operating safely on slopes up to 30 degrees in all directions. The tractor must break hardened simulant crust, till compacted simulant to a depth of one to four inches, redistribute small rocks and pebbles, move larger volumes of simulant material, grade and finish surfaces without damaging the ABS geoweb drainage grid. The tractor specifications include: - A minimum 30 hp liquid-cooled engine - All-wheel drive with articulated chassis - Dual-wheel system for stability - Automated slope-sensing system - Inflatable tires - Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS). Required implements include a power rake for resurfacing, a landscape rake for grading and leveling, and a material handling loader. Integrated maintenance services are required, including four on-site service visits during the warranty period by manufacturer-certified technicians. Equipment must be delivered fully assembled within 15 days after receipt of order. Period of Performance Delivery of equipment is required within 15 calendar days after receipt of order, no later than July 15, 2026. The warranty period includes a minimum of 2 years for the tractor and implements and 3 years for the engine. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at NASA Johnson Space Center located in Houston, Texas. All equipment delivery and on-site maintenance services will occur at this facility.
