Forklift Certification

Background

The Miami-Dade County People & Internal Operations Department, specifically the Fleet Management Division, is seeking qualified training providers to deliver an OSHA-compliant Online Forklift Trainer Certification Program. The goal of this contract is to prepare and certify one Fleet Manager to serve as an in-house Forklift Safety Trainer and Evaluator. This enables them to train, evaluate, certify, and recertify employees who operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts). This initiative aligns with the agency's mission to ensure safety and compliance in forklift operations.

Work Details

The Contractor shall provide an online Forklift Trainer Certification course that prepares the designated Fleet Manager to: - Become a qualified forklift trainer and evaluator under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 requirements. - Develop, administer, and manage an OSHA-compliant forklift operator training and certification program. - Train and evaluate employees who operate powered industrial trucks, including sit-down forklifts. - Conduct operator certification and recertification activities in a consistent, defensible, and compliant manner. - Deliver classroom, practical, and workplace-specific instruction that promotes safe forklift operation and hazard awareness. - Perform operator evaluations and maintain training records that support OSHA compliance. Minimum Course Requirements include instruction on: - OSHA Compliance and Regulatory Requirements. - Responsibilities and qualifications of forklift trainers and evaluators. - Employer obligations related to forklift operator training, certification, and recordkeeping. - Required elements of an OSHA-compliant forklift operator training program. - Effective training methods for adult learners. - Safe forklift operating practices and workplace hazard identification.

Period of Performance

The contract shall commence on the first calendar day of the month succeeding approval by the County Mayor or designee. It will remain in effect until all services are completed and accepted by the County’s authorized representative.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed online; however, the delivery/service address for related materials is 3501 NW 46TH ST MIAMI FL 33142.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a complete offer for all items listed in this ITQ; failure to do so may result in rejection of their offer. Additionally, bidders should provide evidence of OSHA alignment for their training programs.
