Chip Seal (Fall, FY 26-27)

Background

Yavapai County is seeking bids for the placement of chip seal on County maintained roads in Jerome, Sedona, and Village of Oak Creek, Arizona. The goal of this contract is to enhance road surfaces through the application of a CRS-2P 3/8” chip seal and fog seal coat, ensuring improved safety and longevity of the roads. The estimated cost for this project is $3,493,742.80.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, fixtures, and services necessary for the project. The scope includes: 1. Placement of approximately 710,267 square yards of CRS-2P 3/8” chip seal and fog seal coat. 2. Re-establishing existing paint striping and markings as specified in the plans. 3. Specific line items include: - Single Chip Seal Coat (CRS-2P): 690,641 SY - Fog Seal Coat (0.1 GAL/SY): 690,641 SY - Permanent Pavement Marking - White (4" equiv.): 391,528 LF - Permanent Pavement Marking - Yellow (4" equiv.): 495,918 LF - Thermoplastic Marking - White (4" equiv.): 18,626 LF - Thermoplastic Marking - White "School", "Only", Arrows: 85 EA - Mobilization: 1 LS

Period of Performance

The work is expected to commence no later than July 27, 2026, following a Notice to Proceed and must be completed within Forty-Seven (47) working days thereafter. The anticipated project completion date is October 15, 2026.

Place of Performance

The contract work will be performed on County maintained roads located in Jerome, Sedona, and Village of Oak Creek in Yavapai County, Arizona.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a valid Arizona Contractor’s License appropriate for the work specified. Additionally, a Bid Guarantee in the form of a certified check or surety bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid amount must be submitted with the bid. Bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid conference on June 9, 2026.
