Background

Huron County is seeking a consultant for the Peru West Section Bridge Replacement Project. The project involves construction inspection and administration services for a three-span spread box beam bridge, which includes approximately 800 feet of roadway approach and embankment work. The estimated construction cost is $2,100,000. The project has been awarded to Great Lakes Demolition.

Work Details

The consultant will provide construction inspection and administration services as outlined in ODOT’s Construction Administration Manual of Procedures. Specific services required include: - Daily field engineering and inspection - Materials management, testing, and certification - Documentation of quantities and project progress - Contract administration duties including negotiation of change orders and claims management - Compliance with prevailing wage laws and EEO contract requirements. Personnel required include: Project Inspector 1, Project Structures Inspector, Soils and Aggregate Inspector, Construction Engineer Level 1, among others. A documentation clerk may also be provided to assist with clerical tasks related to the project.

Period of Performance

The anticipated period of performance for this contract is from August 2026 to December 2026.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed in Huron County, Ohio.

Bidder Requirements

Consultants must meet prequalification requirements set by ODOT for construction inspection activities. Only individuals (not firms) are prequalified for these activities. The prime consultant and all subconsultants providing engineering and design-related services must be prequalified in financial management system evaluation. Firms that are currently suspended or debarred are not eligible for selection.
