Design-Build Services for Church Street Park Cricket Field Improvements

Background

The Town of Morrisville is seeking qualified Design-Build teams or firms to provide professional design and construction services for the reconstruction of the Church Street Park Cricket Field, located at 5817 Cricket Pitch Way, Morrisville, NC. The project aims to enhance the facilities that support Major League and Minor League Cricket events hosted by the Town in partnership with American Cricket Enterprises, Inc. (ACE). A $2 million grant from the tourism board has been allocated for this project as part of a broader initiative to improve the cricket field's drainage and expand the number of pitches from four to six.

Work Details

The scope of work includes: - Project planning involving a review of existing site conditions, value engineering options, preliminary cost estimates, and schedule development. - Design of improvements focusing on healthy turf coverage, adequate irrigation, acceptable drainage, and an expanded cricket pitch square. - Permitting through all required agencies, specifically the Town of Morrisville. - Construction management ensuring compliance with design specifications. - Weekly on-site meetings during construction for updates with Town staff. - Project closeout including delivery of manuals, establishing warranties, equipment training, final inspection and acceptance, execution of punch list items, and record drawings as applicable.

Period of Performance

The work is scheduled to be performed during the off-season from approximately September 29, 2026 through April 2027. The field must be fully operational by mid-June 2027 to accommodate the upcoming playing season.

The contract will be performed at Church Street Park located at 5817 Cricket Pitch Way, Morrisville, NC.

Bidder Requirements

Firms must demonstrate experience with design-build projects and provide references from similar previous projects. Compliance with North Carolina General Statute 143-64.31 through 143-64.34 is required for all submissions.
