Background

The City of Sylvania is soliciting Letters of Interest from qualified Consultants to provide Professional Surveying and Design Engineering Services for the Highland View Drive/San Benito Drive/San Reno Drive Waterline Improvements Project. This project aims to replace aging waterlines in the specified areas, which were installed prior to 1959. It does not involve federal funding or ODOT-Let or LPA-Let processes.

Work Details

The project involves replacing approximately 2,500 feet of existing water mains with new 8-inch water mains, including new services and appurtenances. Specific details include: - **Highland View Drive**: Replace approximately 1,375 feet of existing 4-inch and 6-inch cast iron waterline. Replacement limits extend from Erie Street to Altera Drive. - **San Benito Drive**: Replace approximately 425 feet of existing 4-inch cast iron waterline located on the north side of the roadway, extending from San Reno Drive to Highland View Drive. - **San Reno Drive**: Replace approximately 710 feet of existing 6-inch cast iron waterline located on the east side, extending from Orvieto Drive to Erie Street. Additionally, all driveways will be replaced where the new main crosses, and the asphalt roadway will be resurfaced upon completion. The selected Consultant will prepare construction plans and specifications for a scheduled construction project in 2029.

Period of Performance

The anticipated timeline includes authorization to proceed by July 27, 2026, with design submissions at various stages leading up to final plans due by April 6, 2027. Construction is expected to commence in Spring/Summer of 2029.

Place of Performance

The contract work will be performed in Sylvania, Ohio specifically along Highland View Drive, San Benito Drive, and San Reno Drive.

Bidder Requirements

Consultants must demonstrate qualifications as required by Ohio Revised Code 153.65D. This includes providing information about significant subconsultants and their prequalification categories, listing key staff members and their relevant experience on similar projects, describing staff capacity relative to current workload, and outlining a project approach that addresses technical understanding and innovative ideas.
