Sheet Pile WCS Replacement, Dunbar Slough WMA, Greene County

Background

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is issuing a contract for the Sheet Pile Water Control Structure Replacement at Dunbar Slough Wildlife Management Area in Greene County. The project aims to enhance water management capabilities by replacing an existing structure, thereby supporting the agency's mission to manage and protect Iowa's natural resources.

Work Details

The project consists of removing the existing sheet pile water control structure and installing a new sheet pile water control structure. The contractor will be responsible for backfilling with rock. Specific tasks include: 1) Mobilization; 2) Removal of Existing Metal Structure (1 LS); 3) Installation of Sheet Piling - SKL-12 (396 SF); 4) Provision of Aluminum Stop Logs (6 Each); 5) Backfilling with Class E Revetment, Unscreened (40 Tons). All steel components must be galvanized, and the stop log channels must be welded water-tight to the sheeting.

Period of Performance

The work is expected to commence after a preconstruction conference and must be completed by August 15, 2026.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including obtaining necessary permits such as the NPDES Stormwater Discharge Permit. A performance bond is required if the contract price exceeds $25,000. Contractors must also provide proof of liability insurance prior to contract execution.
