Background

The City of Davis is seeking a qualified long-term community partner to activate and operate the Civic Gym facility located at 23 Russell Boulevard, Davis, California. The goal of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to engage a partner who can provide inclusive recreational and competitive programming, community activities, and related events that benefit the public. The selected proposer will operate under a revocable, non-exclusive license agreement that supports community recreation while ensuring financial sustainability and operational oversight by the City.

Work Details

The selected Proposer will be responsible for activating and operating the Civic Gym through various programming including inclusive recreational and competitive sports activities, leagues, camps, clinics, trainings, tournaments, and community events. The Proposer must evaluate the facility's condition and implement necessary repairs or improvements prior to full operation. The license grants operational control over specific interior spaces of the facility including an indoor gymnasium, training room, two smaller rooms, restrooms, office space, staff locker room, storage room, and lobby. Additionally, the Proposer must maintain the facility in a safe and orderly condition and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Period of Performance

The anticipated term of the Agreement is five (5) years commencing on the effective date of the Civic Gym Activation and Operations License Agreement. The City may grant up to two (2) additional five (5) year extensions at its discretion.

Civic Gym located at 23 Russell Boulevard, Davis, California.

Bidder Requirements

Proposers must demonstrate operational capability and long-term stewardship of the facility. They are required to obtain necessary permits for operations and improvements. Insurance coverage is mandatory as specified in the Agreement. Proposers must also comply with all federal, state, and local laws including health and safety regulations.
