Electric Meters with Factory-Installed Tantalus Communication Modules

Background

The City of Gallup is issuing this solicitation to procure Itron electric meters equipped with Tantalus communication modules and necessary software. The goal is to standardize the metering infrastructure to ensure compatibility with the existing Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) network. This procurement is critical for maintaining system reliability and operational efficiency, as the City aims to replenish its warehouse stock inventory for current and future deployment needs. The contract will be indefinite quantity, allowing the City to place orders as needed over a period of up to four years.

Work Details

The selected vendor will supply and deliver Itron electric meters with factory-installed Tantalus communication modules. Specific requirements include: - Ensure all meters are compatible with the City’s existing Tantalus AMI network. - Provide documentation confirming compliance with Tantalus specifications and City standards. - Package and ship all meters to the designated City of Gallup warehouse at 1900 Warehouse Lane, Gallup NM, 87301. - Provide technical support documentation, including installation manuals and warranty information.

FM1S, FM2S, FM3S, FM4S, FM9S, FM12S Network, FM16S.

Communication Module

Integrated Tantalus module (no external add-ons or retrofits). - Compliance with ANSI C12 standards and applicable utility metering standards. - Each meter must be labeled with unique serial numbers and any City-specified identifiers. Note: No substitutions will be accepted; only Tantalus-brand communication modules are acceptable due to existing network compatibility.

Period of Performance

The contract will be effective for a period of up to four years from the date of acceptance.

The delivery location for the meters is 1900 Warehouse Lane, Gallup NM, 87301.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with local business licensing requirements in Gallup. Additionally, bidders must provide proof of New Mexico Resident Contractor or Resident Veteran Contractor certification if applicable. All bids must include a completed Campaign Contribution Disclosure Form. Bidders must also agree that all manufacturer warranties shall benefit the City.
