Background

Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, is an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, founded in 1773 with a focus on community-centered mental health care. Work Details

The contract involves providing facility grounds and landscape maintenance services at Eastern State Hospital. Specific tasks include: - Sidewalk & curb edging twice per month from April to October. - Mulching, weeding, and planting seasonal flowering plants in designated areas. - Landscaping services approximately four times per year at specified locations including entrances to the hospital buildings. - Maintenance of ornamental beds, including removal of non-cultivated plants and debris, ensuring mulch is applied correctly using double or triple shredded hardwood mulch. - Pruning shrubbery and small ornamental trees according to approved techniques. - All work must be performed by trained personnel under good workmanlike standards.

Period of Performance

The initial term of the contract is one (1) year with four (4) optional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at Eastern State Hospital located at 4601 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be registered in eVA to submit bids. There is a set-aside for DSBSD-certified Small Businesses with preference given to Virginia-based companies. Bidders must provide a Certificate of Insurance prior to commencing work and demonstrate experience in similar work. All contractor personnel must wear identification badges and uniforms while on site.
