Background

The Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District is seeking qualified contractors to perform asbestos abatement at Wilbraham Middle School, located at 466 Stony Hill Rd, Wilbraham, MA. The goal of this contract is to safely remove and dispose of asbestos-containing floor tiles in compliance with state and federal regulations, including AHERA. This procurement follows M.G.L. Chapter 149 procedures for public works projects estimated to cost less than $50,000.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all necessary labor, transportation, disposal, manifests, permits, and incidentals for the complete abatement and lawful disposal of asbestos floor tiles totaling 371 square feet across multiple locations within the school. Specific areas include: - Second floor hallway: 26 square feet (3 areas)

Room 37

47 square feet. All work must comply with applicable state and federal statutes including AHERA. The contractor must possess all necessary Massachusetts asbestos licenses required by the Department of Labor Standards (DLS) and is responsible for all required DEP/DLS notifications and associated fees. OSHA standards must also be adhered to during the project.

Work is anticipated to commence on or about June 29, 2026, and shall be substantially complete by July 17, 2026.
