Mechanicsburg High School Sanitary Sewer

Background

The Mechanicsburg Area School District is issuing a solicitation for the replacement of the sanitary sewer line at Mechanicsburg Area High School. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper functioning of the school's plumbing infrastructure, which is critical for maintaining sanitary conditions and supporting educational activities.

Work Details

The contract includes all labor, materials, tools, oversight, permits, and equipment required to remove and relocate a portion of the sanitary sewer line through the corridor and production lab. Specific tasks include: 1) Replacing an existing underslab sanitary main with a new sanitary main with revised routing; 2) Reconnecting existing active sanitary branches to the new main; 3) Ensuring that existing plumbing systems remain intact and fully operational unless otherwise noted; 4) Coordinating with other contractors and verifying all existing conditions necessary for performing the work scope in the field; 5) Providing necessary earthwork (excavation, bedding, backfill) to properly pitch and support piping; 6) Maintaining a clean and safe work area at all times in compliance with OSHA standards; 7) Obtaining all necessary fees, permits, and inspections.

Period of Performance

The contract performance period begins upon award and is expected to be completed by June 5, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Mechanicsburg Area High School located at 500 South Broad Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a bid bond with a corporate surety authorized to do business in Pennsylvania amounting to 10% of the total bid. A Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder. Bidders are also required to comply with prevailing wage rates.
