Background

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Routine Litter & Debris Removal under Contract ID DOT2613. The purpose of this contract is to acquire proposals from qualified firms to provide routine monthly litter pickup along specified highway segments and roadways in New Castle County, Delaware. This initiative aims to maintain cleanliness and safety on state highways and roadways, contributing to the overall mission of DelDOT.

Work Details

The selected vendor will be responsible for providing all necessary equipment, materials, and labor for routine litter and debris removal along approximately 250 miles of median and roadside shoulders on various highways including I-95, I-495, SR 1, US 13, US 40, SR 896, Governor Printz Blvd, Maryland Ave, MLK Jr Blvd, New Sweden St, Blue Coats Dr, Appleby Road, Wilton Blvd, and Old Forge Rd. The contract will require the vendor to cooperate with DelDOT to ensure the use of state-of-the-art materials and services. The vendor must also adhere to mandatory insurance requirements including: - Commercial General Liability ($1M per occurrence) - Medical/Professional Liability ($1M per occurrence) - Automotive Liability Insurance ($100K per person; $300K per accident) - Worker’s Compensation coverage. Special provisions regarding litter/debris removal are outlined in Appendix 1 of the RFP.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon execution and will remain in effect through June 2027. It is a calendar day contract with the possibility of extension based on negotiations between the vendor and DelDOT.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed along designated highway segments in New Castle County, Delaware.

Bidders must be registered with DelDOT to submit a proposal.
