Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this contract for the construction of infrastructure upgrades at the Asheville, NC campus. The goal of the contract is to enhance the facilities in accordance with VA regulations, procedures, and applicable codes, ensuring compliance with all solicitation drawings and specifications. This project aims to improve the overall functionality and safety of the medical center's infrastructure. Work Details The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary tools, equipment, materials, labor, supervision, and management to complete various construction tasks. The scope of work includes: - Electrical upgrades (including electrical panel upgrades and power systems) - Bonding - UPS systems - Building Management System interfaces - Assessment and upgrades to existing HVAC systems - Reconfiguration, expansion, and renovation of existing spaces including demolition and new construction - Renovation work in the Data Center (HVAC, UPS, power distribution, cable management) - Communication infrastructure improvements (new data outlets, patch panels, upgrade to Cat 6A cable) - Physical security upgrades - Assessment and upgrade of fiber infrastructure campus-wide - Provision of diversified paths for wide area network connections - Hazardous material abatement.
