Scope of Work

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) is solicitating for a vendor to clean and inspect the nine (9) FCUs on the main deck and the main chill water pipes in the overhead of the main deck onboard the CGC Chippewa during its dockside maintenance period from 02 JUN - 06 JUL. All materials must be new, of good quality, and meet industry standards and manufacturer specifications. All inaccordance with Statement of Work (SOW) Specifications: Refer to the attached Statement of Work for detailed specifications, illustrations, and Points of Contact (POCs) for further clarification of the project.

Background The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking a vendor to perform cleaning and inspection services on the chill water system of the CGC Chippewa during its dockside maintenance period. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the chill water system operates efficiently and meets safety and quality standards. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for cleaning and inspecting nine (9) Fan Coil Units (FCUs) on the main deck and the main chill water pipes located overhead. All materials used must be new, high-quality, and comply with industry standards and manufacturer specifications. Specific tasks include: 1. Disconnecting and backflushing the 9 FCUs to clear debris. 2. Establishing a cleaning plan for the piping system, detailing step-by-step procedures to remove foreign debris. 3. Conducting operational tests before and after repairs to ensure satisfactory operating conditions. 4. Draining affected systems, ensuring compliance with regulations regarding waste disposal. 5. Installing new gasket materials conforming to ASTM D1330 upon reinstallation of valves and fittings. 6. Inspecting piping interiors using a borescope in the presence of the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR). 7. Installing new insulation materials over exposed pipe surfaces as per specified temperature ranges. Period of Performance The contract work will be performed from June 2 to July 6.
