The Zoos, Botanical Gardens, and Aquaria Operational Support (ZBGA OS) Grant Program is seeking applications for a 3-year agreement to provide operational support. The work of this contract includes: - Maintaining, operating, and securing permanent collections of natural specimens - Offering robust educational programs that interpret these collections Funding is designed to be timely and stable, supporting eligible local governments and not-for-profit organizations in their ongoing operations. Who is Requesting: This solicitation is issued by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation (NYS OPHRP), Grants Division.

Background

The ZBGA OS Grant Program is an eligibility-based initiative that has provided support to organizations maintaining collections of natural specimens and delivering public educational services. The contract period for this solicitation will run from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2029, with the initial funding period beginning in State Fiscal Year 2026-27. Previous awards for identical or substantially similar contracts have been made within the past five years.

Contract Requirements

Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria: - Administrative and fiscal strength of the organization - Quality and care of its collections - Level of service provided to the public Eligible applicants include local governments and not-for-profit organizations.
