Summary (Newest Update)

Background The State of North Carolina, through the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities, is seeking to contract with Firstperson Services for Mentor Training and Credentialing services. The Murdoch Developmental Center serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in 25 counties in Central North Carolina. This initiative aims to enhance its training capabilities by credentialing a second mentor in Person-Centered Care Training, which is essential for ensuring compliance with training mandates for new and existing staff. Work Details The contract involves providing services for a second Mentor Trainer recognized by The Learning Community for Person Centered Practices (TLCPCP). The selected vendor will be responsible for: 1. **Step 1: Prerequisites/Application Process** - The Second Mentor will review and provide input on the Mentor Trainer Candidate’s application package to the TLCPCP Credentialing Committee. This includes creating two one-page descriptions, a credentialing plan, a learning plan, and letters of recommendation from sponsoring mentors (Time Required: 1.5 hours). 2. **Step 2: Mentor Candidate Orientation** - The Second Mentor will meet with the Lead Mentor and the Mentor Candidate to clarify roles, review feedback forms, and establish communication methods (Time Required: 1.5 hours). 3. **Step 3: Demonstrating Competencies** - The Second Mentor will observe preparation activities by the PCT Mentor Candidate, attend a remote PCT Training Demonstration class, and provide feedback on support during this observation (Total Time Required: 22 hours). 4. **Step 4: Final Recommendation/Certification** - The Second Mentor will meet with the Lead Mentor and the Mentor Candidate to review strengths, completed plans, and make recommendations for granting the Mentor Trainer designation (Time Required: 2 hours). Period of Performance The initial term of the contract is one year, starting from May 1, 2026 or upon final execution of the contract. Place of Performance Services will be performed remotely as specified in the scope of work. Bidder Requirements Vendors must be registered in good standing with North Carolina's Electronic Vendor Portal (eVP) to be eligible for contract award. Additionally, vendors must comply with immunization requirements as per DSOHF policies and may need to undergo background checks for personnel involved in service delivery.
