The selected consultants will be expected to respond promptly to traffic engineering requests and may rotate work based on workload and qualifications. Work Details Consultants will provide a range of traffic engineering services including: - **Traffic Safety:** Intersection and corridor safety analyses, roadside safety assessments, and Vision Zero recommendations. - **Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS):** Design for traffic signals, fiber cable routing, ATMS networking, traffic signal warrant analysis, timing optimization, and emergency vehicle preemption analysis. - **Traffic Operations Analysis:** Capacity analysis for roadways and intersections, localized traffic impact studies, and school operational analyses. - **Traffic Management Planning:** Special event management plans and parking analysis. - **Traffic Calming Design:** Recommendations for calming measures. - **Transportation Planning:** Environmental design and construction management including traffic control plans and signing/pavement marking designs. Deliverables include conceptual drawings, bound reports with capacity analyses using software like Synchro or VISSIM, documentation for grant applications, road safety assessments, photographic documentation of deficiencies, and maintenance recommendations. Period of Performance The contract will have an initial term of two years with an option to extend by one additional year upon mutual agreement. Place of Performance Services will be performed within the Town of Cary, North Carolina. Bidder Requirements Firms must be currently licensed to perform consulting engineering services in North Carolina. Preference will be given to local firms that maintain an office in the Cary/Triangle area. Proposals must include qualifications of personnel assigned to the project and demonstrate experience with similar projects. Firms must also comply with insurance requirements including general liability and professional liability coverage.
